The Haut-Saint-François is rich in agriculture, nature and heritage. Here settlement occurred in several phases, starting with pioneers from New England, followed by colonists from the British Isles. There are nearly 400 farms in the Haut-Saint-François, with agriculture being, then as now, a leading activity in the region. In addition, the Haut-Saint-François includes a major watershed, formed by the St. Francis River and two sub-watersheds, the Eaton and the au Saumon rivers. Thanks to its early inhabitants, the Haut-Saint-François has no fewer than twenty-five heritage churches of various Protestant faiths, the largest number in the entire province. The Townships Trail takes you through Dudswell, Bury and Cookshire-Eaton.
