Charming Marbleton, part of Dudswell, is a proud member of Quebec’s association of beautiful villages. In Gould you will find one of the most Scottish of Eastern Townships settlements, in Bury one of the most English-speaking. Eaton Corner, part of Cookshire-Eaton, is the oldest village in the region. Cap off your trip in Sherbrooke, where much of the vibrant present includes renewing the beauty of the past.

Day 1:

  • Dudswell: Visit the Dudswell blacksmith’s shop, and hike the 12 kilometres of trails in the living forest.
  • Gould: Visit the cemeteries, the covered bridge, the church. Dine and stay overnight at La Ruée vers Gould.

Day 2:

  • Bury: A village dotted with heritage buildings and home to one of the region’s oldest golf courses.
  • Cookshire-Eaton: Stop at Parc des Braves (Veterans Park) and Pope House. Visit the museum in Eaton Corner.
  • Sherbrooke: Picnic at the old station (market, restaurants, lakeside park), walk around Lac des Nations, take the Sherbrooke historical society’s excellent animated history tours. Consult the local tourism office.
  • Lennoxville borough: Visit the unique St. Mark’s Chapel at Bishop’s University. Enjoy tea and scones at Uplands culture and heritage centre.
