Along the Quebec-Vermont border, from the Sutton Mountains to Brome Lake, Brome-Missisquoi is a region of splendid landscapes of mountains, forest, farmland, lakes and rivers. At the end of the 18th century, Lake Champlain and its Missisquoi Bay opened the way to colonization from New England, making this part of the country the cradle of Loyalist settlement in the Eastern Townships. Today, we still see the strong American and British influences on local architecture. The Townships Trail takes you to Lac-Brome (Knowlton) and Sutton.
The RCM of Brome-Missisquoi is pleased to present the Carnets de Brome-Missisquoi, a travel journal recounting the history and heritage of the region in images and texts. It is available at local tourist offices.
