Ulverton lies at the northern limit of American colonization in the Eastern Townships. Some people believe the name originated from Tilverton, a village near Dublin and the birthplace of one of Ulverton’s founders, Edmund T. Patterson. Others contend the name refers to the English village of Ulverton. The exceptional quality and diversity of the historical buildings seen along the village’s roads and paths make Ulverton one of the most genuine and picturesque communities in Quebec.
For architecture buffs, Ulverton’s concentration of historic buildings will impress you. Right in the heart of the village, the Waldeigh House, the Ulverton United Church and the Webber Reed Inn all date back to the early 19th century.
Activities: In front of the Community Centre, an information board provides brief historical facts about local architecture and colonization.
