Ulverton lies at the northern limit of American colonization in the Eastern Townships. Some people believe the name originated from Tilverton, a village near Dublin and the birthplace of one of Ulverton’s founders, Edmund T. Patterson. Others contend the name refers to the English village of Ulverton. The exceptional quality and diversity of the historical buildings seen along the village’s roads and paths make Ulverton one of the most genuine and picturesque communities in Quebec.

Dating back to 1850, this restored woolen mill is the only textile interpretation centre in Canada! The vintage turbines and machines in the mill are still functional today. The Centre’s three floors take visitors on a journey through the evolution of textiles from pre-industrial days to the present. Workshops, demonstrations and live sheep are among the attractions offered. Paths, a bar, catering and picnics are all available at the mill.
