Townships Tea Festival

Fourth edition - June 22 and 23, 2024

Five venues present a special program around the English Tea tradition.

Reservations are required for most activities.


Maison Merry - Magog

Schedule: Sunday, June 23rd 2024, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Program:

Wear your Sunday hats and come to the Merry House for tea. We'll set the table for you in a friendly, playful version of this tradition inherited from England. A social ritual par excellence, tea was on the table of every family in the late 1800s, regardless of social class! Sweet treats, old-fashioned games, and board games, as well as our new Carte Mémoire exhibition, will complete this moment of pleasure with friends.

Uplands Cultural and Heritage Centre - Sherbrooke

Schedule: Saturday, June 22nd 2024, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Program:

Uplands awaits you for a delicious activity: A free tasting of tea and scones (while supplies last)! Explanations regarding the tea tradition in the Townships will complement the activity. Visitors wearing hats will be eligible to participate in a special draw!

Beaulne Museum - Coaticook

Schedule: Saturday, June 22nd 2024, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

 

Program :

Come and enjoy a delicious raspberry green tea with small pastries!
If you wish, wear a hat or borrow one on site!

Ulverton Woolen Mill

Schedule: Saturday, June 22nd 2024

  • 1st service: 12:00 pm (50 places available)
  • Demonstration: 2:30pm
  • 2nd service: 3:00 pm (50 places available)

 

 

Program :

Put on your favorite hat and join us at La Table de la Bergère at the Ulverton Woolen Mill. Sitting near a waterfall, you can learn more about the traditions and cultural heritage surrounding English tea, while enjoying tasty bites prepared from local ingredients.
 
To make your afternoon even more memorable, we're offering a hat-making demonstration, presented by a local craftswoman.

Sutton Communications and History Museum
